Firstly I make a clay & wire frame.
I then cover the sculpture in recycled materials, using old t-shirts, jeans curtains etc.
The material is impregnated with a special established tried & tested resin that amalgamates & fortifies the material, which when it dries strengthens & hardens the sculpture making them suitable for both indoor & outdoor use all year round.
I pay great attention to detail – for example under the faeries dresses they are all wearing large pants – no knickerless faeries from me!
I use no moulds or patterns so each piece will be truly unique – with no two ever identical.
I then hand paint the sculptures to look like metal.
Each sculpture takes me around 15 – 20 hours to make.
Although you may imagine the sculpture to be delicate they are in fact quite robust.
My sculptures are not meant to be an accurate representation, but more an expression of fun & joy.
