JB Pyrography

Self taught, Jan first discovered Pyrography whilst on holiday in Scotland several years ago and has been hooked since.

She enjoys art that is functional as well as fun and as a direct influence of this she decorates wooden Chopping boards, Trivets, hand turned Bowls, Crochet hooks… actually any wooden object that inspires her.

No two pieces of wood are the same meaning each piece is unique.
All are treated with food safe oil, so they can be used and enjoyed.

She particularly likes working in two different styles. Traditional, taken direct from a photograph/image and a modern patterned style, which gives the work a unique twist.

“I have always loved the look and feel of wood, especially when it has been handled and used. The marks that appear over time with use give it a character of its own and tells the story of the user”
